Geez.. if these are daily figures, I'm a little below average. Hmm.. 355mL / beer, 5% alcohol by volume, ~17.75mL alcohol per beer. 2.76 gallons ~= 10446mL .. that's about 588 beers. Not too shabby. Probably have to triple that for you Americans out there. More hmm... 1 floz ~= 29.57mL (makes you think a beer rips you off a bit, huh?).. ~353 shots. Those rhum and cokes are looking better and better all the time... glen Forwarded-by: Keith Bostic <bostic@bsdi.com> From: CSH Little <70412.2641@compuserve.com> Year Gallons of alcohol consumed. ---------------------------------------- 1790 5.8 gallons 1830 7.1 gallons 1840 3.1 gallons 1869 2.1 gallons 1890 2.1 gallons 1900 2.1 gallons 1920 0.9 gallons 1940 1.56 gallons 1980 2.76 gallons Average consumption in equivalent gallons of ethanol per adult charted across the last 3 centuries, in the U.S., as reported in Scientific American, April 1996.
